Training Peaks is a very versatile tool for communicating training plans and managing training data. Both athletes and coaches can improve the exchange of training information through Training Peaks.
All RTC athletes receive their RTC training plan directly in their Training Peaks account.
Training Peaks allows RTC coaches to plan, deliver and monitor training programs with more effect. Core RTC plans are easily applied to the training group and individualization easily applied as needed.
To access the RTC training plan, you will need a TrainingPeaks basic account. These are free and allow you to view and print the programs, and use TrainingPeaks to log your basic training info. Athletes can configure their account to deliver the RTC plans to their e.mail or cell phone daily at pre-determined times, so workouts are never missed!
Your RTC training program is viewed as a calendar. The default calendar view is a three-four week block. You can also have a weekly or daily view. To navigate up/down days or weeks, use the arrows icons on the top-left menu bar next to where the date is displayed.
- Left arrow goes back to the previous screen of workouts
- Right arrow moves forward to next screen of workouts
- Up arrow goes back one day or week
- Down arrow goes forward one day or week
To change calendar settings:
- Select MY SETTINGS on the upper right menu bar next to the (sickening) american flag icon.
- Under settings select CALENDAR and LAYOUT.
- Scroll down to Calendar Settings.
- Change the week view to 4 and check the radio button for “colorize” (colourize for us Commonwealth Nations).
- Click APPLY, then OK and you’re back in Calendar view.
Click on any workout for full details on what’s in store for you! To print a week or more, explore the “PRINT” feature.
Feel free to explore the premium account option for more functionality (i.e. email coach your workout summaries, use the “metrics” to download Garmin, Polar, etc. data) or just geek out in general!
