    Bring your bike to the on Sunday March 4, 2012 for a fun cycling-filled fundraiser event to support Triathlon Canada’s Vancouver Regional Training Centre (RTC). Join the party by participating in your choice of one (or more!) coached, themed, indoor cycling workouts, entering a raffle or silent auction for some fantastic prizes desirable to any cycling fanatic, and/or checking out the rest of the fantastic bike show.

    Each cycling session costs only $30 with online registration (or $35 for day-of registration) and includes the following:

    Schedule and Session Descriptions

    All sessions will be led by RTC coaches, or partners. They will be 75 minutes in length.

    10:30 am: Session 1: Junior-Specific Cycling lead by RTC coach Alan Carlsson
    Details: This session is aimed to teach and educate cyclists and triathletes skills and drills specific to the junior, U23 or beginner level. Take on the parent-junior athlete challenge! Parents are encouraged to bring their bike and participate in this session to experience hands-on how their kids are training.
    Who should attend: Kids of Steel, youth triathletes, junior elite, U23 elite or beginner cyclists and triathletes and their parents! Also open to anyone looking to go back to the basics.

    12:00 pm: Session 2: Cycling-Specific Energy Systems, Skills and Drills lead by RTC coach Alan Carlsson
    Details: Learn how to activate and train different energy systems in cycling workouts, and how tapping into these systems during training will make you stronger, faster and better riders and racers.  This session features intervals targeting the full spectrum of energy systems including: aerobic threshold, aerobic power, aerobic capacity, tempo, anaerobic power, anaerobic capacity, speed, and economy of motion. During easy recovery spins between intervals you will get a chance to practice cycling-specific drills to improve efficiency and technique.
    Who should attend: Anyone who is ready to work hard and learn more about training for cycling.

    *TIME CHANGE* to 2:05 pm: Session 3: Whistler Gran Fondo Prep lead by RTC friend and Speed Theory spin instructor extraordinaire Doug Giles
    Details:  A whirlwind preview of what to expect on the Whistler Gran Fondo course, corners, climbs, descents, landmarks, etc. Ride the course in under 80 minutes under the leadership of an experienced Fondo rider.
    Who should attend:  Anyone thinking of entering the Whistler Gran Fondo for the first time or seasoned riders who want to find ways to improve their time.

    *TIME CHANGE* to 3:30 pm: Session 4: Hill Climbing to the Max lead by RTC friend and Leading Edge Triathlon Club head coach Andrew Tuovinen
    Details: This session prepares you for the ultimate Vancouver cycling feat: the triple crown: Cypress, Grouse and Seymour mountains. Learn to climb seated and standing, high cadence and low for maximum efficiency and comfort on the way up and down.
    Who should attend: Anyone who loves (or hates) hills!
